Tēnā koutou e ngā ringa rangahau, ngā kai rangahau o Ngāti Kahungunu, o te rohe rānei, tēnā tātau katoa.
Ngā mihi maioha – thank you to everyone who joined us for the Ringa Rangahau Research Symposium 2025!
Our third symposium has now concluded, and we are humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response. Over three days, we gathered to share mātauranga, celebrate the depth and breadth of Māori research, and strengthen connections across our communities.
From inspiring keynote speakers and rich kōrero to the warmth of whakawhanaungatanga and manaakitanga, this symposium affirmed the power of coming together on our own whenua.
Some of the feedback we’ve received:
“The Symposium was an incredibly rich and deeply affirming experience. I felt immensely proud and privileged to be in the room, witnessing the depth of mātauranga shared.” – Bobi Te Runa, Ngāti Mihiroa
“High calibre of keynote speakers and presenters… I had a great time and took away memorable connections and content.” – Anaru Hodges, Health New Zealand Te Matau a Māui
“Wow, absolutely perfect.” – Wayne Taylor
“Hearing what our other Kahungunu researchers are doing was extremely awe inspiring, and as an uri of Kahungunu I was so proud of everyone.” – Rāwiri Tinirau, Te Atawhai o Te Ao
“The opportunity to attend this symposium was a great learning experience and also assists with not only my current studies but the work I do for Sport Hawke’s Bay.” – Eana Young, Sport Hawke’s Bay
“Nō Ngāti Kahungunu, mō Ngāti Kahungunu” – koirā te karanga.
From our experienced mātanga to the pī ka rere at the start of their research journeys, every contribution was valued and important. Together, we’ve laid new foundations for the future of Māori research.
We look forward to building on this momentum and welcoming you to future events. A selection of photos and short interviews will be shared soon.
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa i tae mai, i tuku tautoko, i tohaina ngā mātauranga.
