Tipene Cottrell (Ngāti Hinepare, Ngāti Maahu, Ngāi Tawhao) is a cultural and environmental consultant passionate about taiao (the environment) and wāhi tapu (sacred sites). He focuses on archiving and digitising significant collections with Te Kura I Awarua and is committed to preserving Māori knowledge and narratives for future generations.

Tipene also provides cultural guidance for various organisations and leads restoration initiatives in the Kaweka Forest through Te Ngahere. He digitises and preserves Māori archival collections, ensuring their accessibility for future generations while contributing to the protection of wāhi tapu and taiao.
